Using engaging lessons, personalized learning and hands-on activities to help scholars flourish
Aspen Ridge will utilize a teaching and learning environment that is designed to be flexible, engaging and collaborative. The curriculum will feature hands-on learning, project-based inquiries and opportunities for scholars to pursue individual passion projects, all supporting and amplifying the district- approved curriculum.
Grade 1
First grade introduces young learners to a wide range of core academic subjects. From science to social studies and math to reading, first grade scholars focus on skills such as:
- Spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Vocabulary and word analysis
- Reading comprehension
- Counting by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's
- Demonstrating science skills and concepts
- Solving problems
- Learning effective communication skills
